USA Homespun Cotton Mini Hank "The Griffin" 4.00"x4.00 

From our Homespun Cotton Hanks Collection. Our USA Homespun Cotton Mini Hanks are considered Premium Cotton Hanks.

Most Hanks in EDC use a Cotton Synthetic Poly Blended Fabric that have "Printed" patterns and clipart on one side. These Premium Hanks are made using USA Homespun Cotton Fabric that are100% Natural. Each strand of yarn is pre-dyed and then spun and weaved to create color patterns that showcon both sides, which typically are lined, checked or plaid patterned.

This form of fabric making became very popular beggining around the time of the Boston Tea Party and was considered a Rebellion in response to the British Townshend Acts of 1767 and 1768. Colonists began to process and weave their own fabrics, and “homespun” came to define any textiles produced domestically in a nonindustrial setting. Raw materials such as linen, cotton, wool, hemp and even silk were transformed into fabrics in North America, as a Rebellion as to refuse to import British Textiles, for local consumption and then was used to support the American Revolution to make soldiers' uniforms.

Our Homespun Cotton Hanks use 100% USA Made Fabric including our Microsuede Backing. Our Skull Rivets are imported but are interchangeable. Our Thread used is USA Made as well. 

These Hanks are made to pay homage to the Ultimate Birth of the United States and to where Pride in USA Made Products began.

Our Mini Hank size is primarily intended or to be popular with Traditional Knife EDC enthusiasts. Traditional Knives (as in Slip-Joints, Lockbacks, Locking Folders and such) are typically smaller in profile (under 4") and these Mini's are perfect for Traditional Knife lovers! They also work great as a small tuck away Cleaning Cloth for Glasses and Cell Phones. 

Our USA Homespun Cotton Mini Hanks are 4-Ply and Double Stitched for a much improved quality, durability and feel and feature an interchangeable Classy Antiqued Brass Screw Rivet showcasing our Skull and Crossbones Logo. For our Backing we use an upgraded Microsuede over the more commonly used Microfiber Backing. Read more about Microsuede below.

About Microsuede:

Microsuede is heavier than the more commonly used microfiber. It's called Microsuede as it's made to feel like Suede. It performs similarly to Genuine Suede as it can be used to better maintain a knife's edge as it has enough grit (and grip) to manipulate metal in a similar way as when stropping a knife with leather.

Where Microsuede out performs Suede as a backing for Hanks (and why we chose Microsuede) is it doesn't grip surfaces so much that it's challenging to use for wiping surfaces clean and it easily cleans a knife's blade.

We spent months testing many materials and we believe that Microsuede is the best, most all-around versatile material to use specifically for maintaining and cleaning knives after every use. Above all when stropping a blade against it, it can be used to better maintain a knife's edge. Note, this can only be achieved by properly stopping after each use. By use, we mean a light use such as opening a few boxes, or cutting something that wouldn't severely dull or reprofile a blade. This won't work as good as stropping against actual leather.
